Chemical Sales Representative

A top Indiana chemical distribution company is hiring a Chemical Sales Rep. Serving a large variety of industries, the company offers bulk, packaged, and laboratory chemicals, as well as raw materials and formulated products. The selected candidate would be responsible for developing, maintaining, and penetrating specific accounts in North America along with closing new business opportunities- specifically with pharmaceutical-related manufacturers.  The Sales Representative would report directly to the Senior Pharmaceutical Manager.

Responsibilities
  1. Assess client needs, present/sell suitable products (chemicals/materials) within a territory 
  2. Identify targets and proactively research/prepare action plans for outreach
  3. Coordinate with Purchasing and Operations to ensure proper inventory levels 
  4. Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts
  5. Build effective customer relationships, maintain customer satisfaction
  6. Strong business acumen, including an understanding of the business relationship between suppliers, distributors and end-users of chemical products and services
  7. Maintain book of business via Outlook Calendar and keep an agreed number of meetings/calls per week
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Chemistry, Biology or related field
  2. 3 plus years of sales experience in chemical distribution, biology, or related space
  3. Strong written and oral skills
  4. Strong negotiating, critical thinking and analytical skills
  5. Must be willing to be flexible with work schedule, some travel required
  6. Excellent sales and interpersonal skills
